Linda's Top Five Bands:
(This list is always subject to change.)
|
- U2
Without a doubt, my favorite band. Critics have babbled on and on about their lack of complicated riffs, whatever. U2 has passion and a knack for innovation. To make the jump from "Rattle and Hum" to the electronic sound of "Achtung Baby" (arguably one of the best albums ever) simply proves my point. It also helps that they give a shit.

- Ben Folds / Ben Folds Five
Part of me wishes Ben Folds would pick up in popularity and start making the kind of cash he deserves, but a bigger part of me sort of likes that most people have no idea who the hell he is. There isn't a Ben Folds Five or Ben Folds album that I don't absolutely adore. I always have at least the self titled BFF CD with me in my car at all times. More often than, not, I have several other albums as well.

- Tenacious D
I love Tenacious D. Their first album just came out, and in those tough weeks after September 11th, whenever I was depressed, I put on this CD. They are sick, twisted, and funny as anything. You must Obey the D.

- Fleetwood Mac
I'll admit it, I'm not a hard core Fleetwood Mac fan. I own none of their pre-Stevie/Lindsay albums. On the other hand, I own everything they released after Stevie and Lindsay joined the band. I just dig the harmonies.

- Franz Ferdinand
My favorite new album in ages. I get all warm and fuzzy inside and want to do many new wave dances whenever I listen to it.
